DescriptionEvent Time: 10:00 – 17:30 An intensive course on western typography and typeface design, specifically planned for designers not native to the Latin script. • Western typography key concepts and trends, including trends in document design and branding. • Essential knowledge for working with Latin typefaces: understanding styles and their relationship with documents, evaluating quality, and pairing families for publications in print and online. • Multiscript / multilingual typography challenges and solutions, trends and quality criteria. • Typeface refining and extending masterclass to achieve highest quality levels, which also applies to logo development and refinement. The course combines illustrated presentations and workshop-style exercises, to explore each of the four themes. Active participation and learning through observation of unique original materials from the Department’s Collections.
